We Will Re-Open Friday, May 22, 2020.

These are unprecedented times with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The health and safety of our guests and employees are our top priorities. We have been closely monitoring the guidance and recommendations of public health agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) as well as federal, state and local governments.

Given the current recommendations to close bars and restaurants and limit gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to suspend our operations beginning Friday, March 20 at 12:00 pm local time. The temporary closure is anticipated to last through Thursday, May 21, 2020.

This decision was not easy and we recognize the significant impact on your travel plans, but we know that this is the responsible path forward to help slow the spread of the disease.

We are deeply sorry that this pandemic is affecting your visit. We look forward to getting back to normal operations as of Friday, May 22, 2020.

Ongoing Actions When Operating

At Mount Rushmore, the safety of our guests, and staff is our #1 priority. It is also the reason behind many of the things that we do on a daily basis.

We anticipate that you may have questions surrounding our efforts to manage coronavirus (COVID-19). Fortunately, our robust sanitation protocol has been in place for many years. These continuing efforts include:

  • Widespread availability of alcohol-based hand sanitizer in all food outlets and cash registers
  • Disinfecting hard surfaces of all of our lodges multiple times per day, including restrooms, counters, and furniture
  • Regularly educating our staff on the importance of (and enforcing adherence to) established policies on hand washing, covering sneezes, and staying home if they are feeling under the weather

We’ve recently enhanced this ongoing regimen with the following:

  • Sanitizing all exterior doorknobs and handles every two (2) hours

We also continue to adopt all reasonably prudent sanitization measures as prescribed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and encourage you to refer to this respected resource as you make your own near-term travel plans. Together with you, we will minimize the risk of any illness.

We want you to book and travel to Mount Rushmore with confidence. Should your plans change, you can modify any reservation through the day prior to your original date of arrival.

We look forward to showing you A World of Unforgettable Experiences during your stay.
