Memorial Team Ice Cream
The Memorial Team Ice Cream station is named in honor of the baseball team formed by the Mount Rushmore carvers. Some of these workers were actually hired for their pitching, not their carving skills, which led the team to place second in the state in 1939. Life-size pictures of the carvers in their baseball uniforms are on the walls near the station.
A winning combination is also available in Mount Rushmore's popular "Monumental Scoops" of ice cream, both soft-serve and hand-dipped. A selection of "grab and go" foods, fountain drinks, floats and snacks are also available.
